The Philippine Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) implemented new regulations for the SRRV (Special Retirement Visa) on September 1, 2025, marking the most significant adjustment in recent years. Those planning to retire or reside long-term in the Philippines must calculate their eligibility according to the current rules.
Category simplification: Only two categories remain.
The original SRRV Smile (approximately US$10,000 deposit) and Human Touch programs have been discontinued and are no longer valid for new applications. Currently, there are only two types: Classic, for general retirees; and Courtesy, for retired diplomats, military personnel, and former Filipino citizens. Existing holders of the old version of the SRRV are unaffected and remain valid.
Age limit extended to 40, deposit tiers implemented.
- Classic · With pension: $15,000 for ages 50+ / $ 25,000 for ages 40–49;
- Classic (No pension): $ 30,000 for ages 50+ / $ 50,000 for ages 40–49;
- Pension threshold: ≥ $800 per month for an individual, ≥ $1,000 per month for those with dependents.
The application fee has been increased to $1,500, and a new requirement Bureau of Immigration (BI) certificate of no criminal record/ Exit Clearance (ECC) has been added.
* Specific figures for each category are based on the current PRA Citizens Charter; information is current as of June 2026. For SRRV processing, please consult YIXING professional advisors.
